Re: Sources to buy balsa wood for tower
Specialized Balsa has had lots of recommendations on the forums in the past. Lots of teams do quite well with balsa from their local craft / hobby stores. Be aware that balsa wood naturally has a wide range of densities. You'll want to either select the density you want, or adjust your design based on the strength / density of the wood that you can get.

Re: Sources to buy balsa wood for tower
Specialized Balsa is pretty expensive. I'd recommend hobby shop wood(Michaels and Hobby Lobby sometimes has a good selection if you're lucky) unless you want specific density and all. I just don't think SB is worth it unless you're at the level where you care about that sort of detail.
anything'll fly if you throw it hard enough

Re: Sources to buy balsa wood for tower
Does anyone know if blick art materials balsa sticks are good quality? I'm trying to get some low density balsa sticks (1/16x1/16x36") for scioly (tower div c).
