There is a Content Introduction document for the event (written by myself) that was recently posted to the event page on the national website: https://www.soinc.org/geologic-mapping-c. As with many of the rules changes this year, this is intended to help competitors more easily get into an event that's known for being unapproachable (perhaps because it has so little overlap with typical high school coursework). I'd love to hear any feedback that could help improve this document in the future.
