Bad answer, but it means you can bring one sheet of paper per participant. The event allows two people to participate so yes, if you have a group of 2 people you can bring two sheets of paper. Regarding the 2024 rules for Forensics, does anyone know what they mean when they say you can bring one sheet of paper per participant? Does this mean that if I have a group of 2 people I can bring two sheets of paper? Or is it just one per group? I'm not able to find a clear answer on the scioly website.
Yes, Forensics is a hybrid event which means that it includes both a lab portion and an exam portion. You'll be performing experiments to identify unknown substances and using what you learn from these experiments to answer questions on the exam. However, the exam will also include theoretical questions related to the science behind all of the topics. Not all of the subjects in the rules will have experiments that you perform, but they might still have questions included on the exam. For example, you might have to examine hairs under a microscope to identify them but you may also have to answer questions about the structure of hairs or how they grow. The topics you might need to know things about are outlined a bit in the rules manual (which you should read if you haven't already) but I would also strongly recommend looking at practice exams on the Test Exchange to see the types of things people ask about.
