We are pleased to announce that this year, Brown Science Olympiad will be hosting our first ever Division B tournament on December 2nd, 2023! Since this is our first time hosting a competition for middle school students, this will be a smaller tournament focusing on New England Science Olympiad teams. Additionally, we will be holding our 7th annual Division C tournament on February 10th, 2024! Both invitationals will be fully in-person on Brown University’s campus in Providence, Rhode Island. The registration form and registration details can be found on our website: www.brownscioly.com. Please continue reading for important dates and logistical information for registration:
  • September 15th 5pm EST, 2023: Registration opens for RI teams. In order to encourage and bolster Science Olympiad competition in our home state of Rhode Island, we’re giving all RI teams a period of exclusivity to register for our tournament. All RI teams will be guaranteed a maximum of two teams before September 30th.
  • September 29th 5pm EST, 2023: Registration opens for all teams. Teams from states outside of RI are now able to register for our tournament. Spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis with additional spots being available through the lottery described below.
  • October 13th 5pm EST, 2023: Registration closes for all teams.
  • October 16th, 2023: Teams receive registration status. While there is a limit of three teams that a school can register on our form, not all schools are guaranteed to receive that many slots. Past competitors will be guaranteed at least one team, and schools that placed in the top ten in previous years will be allowed to bring two teams. That being said, we have the space for more teams and we highly encourage new out-of-state teams to register at least one team. Spots that are not guaranteed will be distributed through a lottery system.
  • November 10th 11:59pm EST, 2023: Payment for tournament due. This is the last possible day for your team to submit payment or proof of payment. Failure to submit payment on time will forfeit your team’s slot to the next team on the waitlist.
  • December 2nd, 2023: Division B Competition Day!
  • February 10th, 2024: Division C Competition Day!
Please reach out if you have any questions, comments, or concerns to [email protected]. We could not be more excited to host another in-person Division C Science Olympiad tournament and our first ever Division B Science Olympiad tournament!

Best of luck to all teams in the upcoming season!

Hi everyone!

We just had our seventh annual Brown Science Olympiad Division C Invitational yesterday on February 10th, 2024! We were so glad to have 54 teams from 39 schools competing this year; the most we have ever hosted. This is the last invitational tournament we will host this year, though we are excited to see all our Rhode Island teams compete at Rhode Island Science Olympiad (RISO) on April 13th, 2024.

Here are the results of the Division C Invitational (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing) and the tests and answer keys (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing). Congratulations to Acton-Boxborough Regional High School (MA) for winning first place overall.

Good luck to everyone at competing at other Invitationals as well as teams entering the Regionals/States circuit! Wishing everyone a warm and healthy spring season from Providence, Rhode Island. :)
