Hello:
Why do state tournaments do not release question & answer sets? Even raw-scores are not released. Only rankings are released.
Regards!

This has been discussed a few times in past years on these forums. One reason I think is that it would lead to massive headaches with appeals and complaints of unfairness etc.

Yeah, and also some top teams don't want their scores being released to the public. Build events are a huge issue, and if you were going to nationals, you wouldn't want teams from other states seeing your performance.

There could be several reasons why state tournaments do not release question and answer sets or raw scores, and only release rankings. Here are a few possible reasons:
To maintain the integrity of the competition: Releasing the question and answer sets could make it easier for future competitors to prepare and potentially gain an advantage over their competitors. By keeping the questions and answers confidential, the competition remains fair and unbiased.
To protect the privacy of competitors: Releasing raw scores could reveal personal information about individual competitors, such as their strengths and weaknesses. This information could be used by others to unfairly target or discriminate against competitors.
To prevent cheating: Releasing the question and answer sets could make it easier for individuals to cheat on future competitions by sharing the questions and answers with others.
