*chill pill*
Calm down.
Ask for it. Really. No reasonable coach would deny an experienced member an event they have medaled in. Just be logical, make a point that you've placed before and will work harder this year.
Just don't lose your temper and you'll be fine. If it comes to it, move up to C.

Re: Team Personel Issues
Don't panic, instead, talk to your coach, and perhaps even the person who is doing the event now, and you may be able to make a switch. You will be far more likely to get the events you want if you are reasonable and polite. Also, did you have tryouts? If so, then the person may just have done better than you. Even if you don't get the events you want, you should work at the ones you do have, to prove to your team that you are responsible and trustworthy, so you will get you events in the future. Reasoning, and offering an event trade works the best, I know from experience.
Also, there is no such thing as "the hardest events". You have certain talents, and events outside those will seem harder. Your coach may just have been giving you events that are best for you, so they may seem easier if you know more about them. All the events in SO are difficult, undoubtedly, all require lots of time, and I can' think of any events that are considered too easy for a 9th grader. If anything, you will get better medals at both state and regionals, and it may pull your team up to do well in reliable events. Your coach may not be willing to risk putting the 9th graders and best people on your team in the unfamiliar events because she wants you to do well overall. This is a team sport, not and individual sport, and your coaches want you to do well. They are not your enemy.

Well, actually experimental design is the hardest event on these guidelines.... States the people with the most seinority got the event (i was kicked of but i got the reson so i didnt care) and got almost last place cuz it was something that they never heard of let alone study.......kjhsscioly wrote:Don't panic, instead, talk to your coach, and perhaps even the person who is doing the event now, and you may be able to make a switch. I think everyone has their opinion of what the hardest events are. Our team always does well in Experimental Design, but Anatomy is a rough spot for us.reachgeek wrote:Well, actually experimental design is the hardest event on these guidelines.... Re: Team Personel Issues
There are opinions, but they are different for everyone... I think one event is quite hard, someone else thinks it is the easiest event...
it is in the eye of the beholder
... if anyone gets the reference...
it is in the eye of the beholder
