UNC Chapel Hill Science Olympiad Invitational
Posted: October 29th, 2021, 8:18 pm
Hey everyone!
We're Carolina Science Olympiad (CarSO), the Science Olympiad alumni group of UNC-Chapel Hill, and we're excited to announce that we will be hosting our first Division C invitational! The tournament will run virtually on January 22, 2022, with an optional in-person build portion on Sunday, January 23rd. Build events will be run as trial events, and will not contribute to overall team score.
Registration is currently open, and will close on November 30. The registration fee is $40, plus $20 per additional team. If this fee presents a burden to your team, please contact us by email or via our website, as fee waivers may be available. The tournament will host a maximum of 60 teams, with preference given to NC teams.
All events will follow North Carolina state rules, but may use national-level questions for tiebreakers. We will also be running NC-only events Bottle Rocket, Picture This, Mystery Architecture, and Fast Facts. Science Olympiad alumni may apply to write a test, with a preference for current UNC students.
We hope to see everyone in January!
