Brown University Science Olympiad Invitational 2022
Posted: September 24th, 2021, 8:59 pm
We are pleased to announce that Brown University will be hosting it’s 4th annual Division C Science Olympiad tournament on February 12, 2022. It will follow a Satellite SO format and be held virtually on the Scilympiad platform. All tests will be written and proctored by Brown University students, many of whom were national medalists themselves. More instructions for build event logistics will be delivered in the coming months.
Registration is currently open and will close on Sunday, October 24th (see link below to register). This year, we will have a cap of 50 teams, with potentially more spots opening up depending on demand. Up to two teams per school may register for the tournament. During Round 1, each school is guaranteed the larger number of teams that competed at one of our tournaments this previous season. During Round 2 and Round 3, up to one team per school will be accepted while remaining teams will be waitlisted.
Our registration fee of $40 is meant to cover the purchase and mailing of medals and trophies to the top 5 teams in each event and the top 3 overall team finishers (1 trophy per school). If this registration fee is a burden to your team this year, please request a scholarship to waive the fee in your application -- scholarship requests will be approved for any fair reason, and teams will not be at a disadvantage in the lottery for requesting a scholarship: please do not let the fee deter your team from applying!
While it was not an easy decision for us to switch gears and run a virtual tournament instead of an in-person one, we’re working very hard to ensure that this year’s tournament will be as fun and engaging as possible! Please email us below if you have any questions:
