Virginia 2022

And we're back with another year of Virginia Science Olympiad! VASO will be holding their annual kickoff meeting for B/C coaches and student leaders on the 11th. The call will be recorded and uploaded to their YouTube channel, so keep an eye out for that. Here's what we know right now:
Events
The VASO slate will be announced when the national manual comes out, which I guess means as early as today. I don't expect many major changes, though, since Game On went bye-bye at the national level (so VASO doesn't have to replace it at the state level). I'm not sure what else they'd replace. E: see the post below for the full event slate.
Invitationals
Fairfax will run their Division C tournament on January 8th. Lake Braddock's Division B tournament is on December 11th. More info will come out at some point for both of these.
Regionals
Regionals will follow a hybrid setup. There will be a day for written tests (currently planned for January 29th), which are taken virtually on Scilympiad, and a series of days for device testing. During the device testing days, teams just stop by for some time (~2 hours), test, and go. The current plan is to have two of these days (Feb 12th and 26th) in northern VA and one in Charlottesville on Feb 19th.
States
The state tournament is currently planned to be fully in-person on March 26th at UVA.
Other
Registration fees are discounted this year for all teams! Apparently VASO has a surplus, and Northrop Grumman also offered to help pay for some school with high free/reduced lunch populations. In addition, VASO wants everyone to like and follow/subscribe to their Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
I can't believe this is my last time making this thread as a competitor :') Let's have an amazing season despite the circumstances!
