Screw Task
Discussion for Screw task.
-The path of the Administrator is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.
-Nothing\'s gonna get deleted. We\'re gonna be like three little Fonzies here. And what\'s Fonzie like? Come on, what\'s Fonzie like?
-Cool?
-Correctamundo. And that\'s what we\'re gonna be. We\'re gonna be cool. Now, I\'m gonna count to three, and when I count three, you let go of your mouse, and back away from the keyboard. But when you do it, you do it cool. Ready? One... two... three.

Re: Screw Task
does the screw itself have to move back and forth or can it be like a wing nut on a threaded rod moving up and down?

Re: Screw Task
Rule 4.d says: "Turn a screw so that its tip stays in contact with an object..."sj wrote:does the screw itself have to move back and forth or can it be like a wing nut on a threaded rod moving up and down?
That seems to indicate that the screw itself has to move and the screw's linear movement pushes the object.

Re: Screw Task
What would be an example of this type of simple machine? Also could this double up as the wedge one by having a screw push the wedge between two objects?

Re: Screw Task
The bolt is a giant screw (it has a pointy tip and doesn't go into a nut). Is that ok?

Re: Screw Task
Yep, so long as that pointy tip is staying in contact with an object, and you move that object by spinning your bolt.robinc wrote:The bolt is a giant screw (it has a pointy tip and doesn't go into a nut). Is that ok?
