Perhaps melt it a little at the edges?

A quick (not 100% successful) method is to wet a small piece of mylar and stick it on top of the tear. Use water, but saliva works just as well.

Balsa wood inc, google it. Its a nice place, pretty cheap, and it's in Iowa so shipping shouldn't be too much for you. Lol i would say that, but then again after much fundraising our team actually has a lot of money, at least a lot for us...now i don't have to feel guilty about telling coach to order stuff for me :)

Bleh. Covering with mylar was not fun. Much harder than a nice, flat(ish) wright stuff plane wing

What exactly do you guys use to build the helicopter? I am getting the impression that balsa wood is used, but what else? And where can I get it?
