Writing Prompt of the Day

I've been on the scioly discord and only recently have been active on the forums, and I thought I'd start a forum for something I've done on the discord occasionally: writing prompt of the day. The basic premise is that we come up with writing prompt to write about and expand from here (it might not be daily lol). I'll start:

"You're walking through the woods and trip over a rock, turning it over, you are propelled into a new dimension."

Although exactly a year and a month old, this is still a great premise for a thread.

"Although a strange tradition, for the past twelve months on the fifth day of each, I would stop by a quaint store just off the main road and purchase one of the cute little stone animal trinkets, until I had bought all of them. Now, the fifth day of the thirteenth month, I was shocked to enter my house and see twelve figures..."
