My friend, who has yet to make an account, has a question and wants me to post it for him:
Said friend wrote:By saying that we aren't allowed to be tested on "devices", does that include how the measuring tools work?

This is what the rules actually say:

"Topics that must not be included in the competition are: semiconductors, AC circuit theory and devices, capacitors, inductors."

Read carefully; the commas matter. So the rules are actually just saying that AC devices may not be included in the competition. In fact, the event description requires you to know about "simple electrical devices". Just not ones that use AC.

Different event coordinators/supervisors will give totally different tests. But there is a certain range of information they are allowed to test you on. It's in the rules. Do you have a copy?

I think I'm going to post one of my tests up on the test exchange. There may already be some up there but I'm not sure.

There. You can find my test at the test exchange on the wiki, or here. I hope this gives you an idea of what a test might be like!
