Scioly Assassination 55: The Cup of Death

Welcome to the FIFA World Cup 2010!
Unfortunately for you, there is a killer in your midst.

1. The police officers will be the next five people who post. Put in a bit of thought before posting. If you have not been around for awhile, it is less likely that you will be able to identify me.

2. There will be five "informants" who will be the five people who post after the officers

3. People will die. However, there are some exceptions. I will not kill administrators or moderators. In return, I ask that they not reveal my identity.

4. Police officers may die, but a police officer may protect another police officer.

5. In each police officer’s first post, he or she will select a World Cup team to represent. In the event that two officers wish to represent the same team, the officer who posted first will be given priority. When that team wins a game, the police officer will be given an accusation. When that team loses a game, the police officer will lose an accusation. These rules only apply for games that occurred after June 21 (the final two games in each group). Each officer starts with one accusation. No officer may accuse until the first killing is attempted.

6. The assassin will provide clues which plainly point to his or her next victim, and occasionally to himself or herself.

7. The assassin will continue to post with his or her true account, and may provide hints there.

8. The assassin will write entertaining and mildly gruesome accounts of his or her kills.

9. When accusing someone of being Assassinator you must use the following template "I accuse (place name here) because (give reason here)." If you don't use this template when accusing the accusation won't count.

10. Once "killed" a user may not make any statements about the identity of the Assassinator.

11. Non officers or informants may post.

12. The assassinator is allowed to kill if 3 days have passed since the posting of the clue and not all protects have been made. If all protects have been made and 4 days have passed since then the officers are all allowed one additional protect

13. If the assassinator does not reply in 8 days after all protects are made, each officer gets a free accusation. However that accusation must be made next time the user posts and cannot be stored as an extra one to use later.

14. When protecting, an officer must give a valid reason. When protecting themselves, that reason must also be clue-related.

15. If the Assassinator nullifies a protect for any reason, he or she must give the protecting officer 8 hours to reprotect.

16. The Assassinator reserves the right to add to these rules as he or she deems necessary.

In the event of a tie, nothing would happen.

The final two games for group C, for example, would be US-Algeria and England-Slovenia. They have not yet happened. It is the final one game per team, but the final two per group.

Ah..I get it now
I'm wondering if this person is a completely anti-sports person with a good disguise or one of the World Cup thread regulars

This is going to be awesome. Too bad I can't join. Good luck to the officers. And to the assassinator. And to the USA!

EDIT: What happens if an officer goes into negative accusations?

I think so too, but the World Cup is fairly out there publicity wise, so even someone who doesn't follow it could easily make a good game. HMM....so many suspicions...
