Sponsors? All I know is our team definitely does not have any except for maybe some local businesses that are unofficial sponsors. So I wouldn't know how to get any. Are you talking about local sponsors or bigger companies?

As far as I know we have none. The only time I've ever heard of sponsors involved with SciOly is at the state and national tournaments, when some companies help sponsor some events.

Usually at the end of the year some businesses give us money. Usually they have some relationship to the team (like a family member to a competitor). For instance I believe a law firm whose owner's daughters were on the team gave us money last year, as well as my dad's union. It's usually like $100. I guess you could call that sponsors.

hmm we are looking for local level sponsors,

but the problem is raising costs.

i know car washes work best but we have 3 girls on the team. bake sales would work, but its hard to raise 1k.

Yes my team has one sponsor that I know of and I know that all of you have heard of them.

Thanks to them my Sci Oly team has started to try to get the school to recycle and it has worked.

We rely on both businesses making donations and private donations to finance our yearly (well at least for the last 15 years, and hopefully next year) trip to nationals. All of the businesses who make donations are local, no huge corporations, at least not this year.

If we win state, we usually go around to every business in the area and beg for money. We offer to put their logo on our national shirts. We have gotten up to $1,000 from a single sponsor, but it is usually considerably less.
