Mac vs Windows?
Mac vs PC (we all know that that stands for Personal Computer, but in this case, assume it to mean any windows-based machine).
Keep it under control, so we don't get erased.

One of the mods will probably move this to the Polling place, it doesn't belong here...

Macs are clearly the good guys, good guys are better and always triumph, case closed.
The only reason people like PCs is because they are cheap and they have more games. And they have more games because more people buy them (because they are cheap). But if people bought macs (the better operating system) then games would be made for macs as well.

Re: Mac vs Windows?
Between those two, I'd say Windows. I'm using XP, but I believe that 7 brings the eye-candy that Leopard has. I can't say for sure, since I use XP, but I believe that Leopard may be a bit better for navigating through your computer, but Windows is not bad if you have any experience with it. A lot of people tout how Macs are "intuitive", but I think that's just because they are familiar with it. I'm fairly decent with computers, but I can't figure out iMovie just by looking at it. As well, there is more software available online and for purchase for Windows, since it has a larger market share. However I believe Macs dominate editing photos, videos, music, etc. Price and diversity are common factors but very important. In my opinion, Apple's software is not worth an extra couple hundred dollars, and many more companies sell Window's products, so you can get things like touch screen computers, extra strong computers, or just plain cheap computers.
But if you have a decent understanding of programming, neither can compare to Linux.

Re: Mac vs Windows?
Agreed Mac's are better in a way but for the money Windows all the way. you can do same and more than a Mac but the down is that it needs more maintenance and the freken viruses, that Mac have very little or none. If i could afford it i will probably buy a mac but the difference is way to much in price and you can get a super good kick ass pc for that money or less.

Re: Mac vs Windows?
If you have some amount of common sense, you shouldn't be getting viruses. I can't think of the last time I got one.
I don't buy that Macs are more intuitive...whenever I try to use one I get more confused than anything. I can sit down at an Ubuntu or Debian workstation and get a much better grasp of it than a Mac.
But to each his own...right? It's a free trade society, and competition is only beneficial.

Agreed on all points- this PC is, I believe, 8 years old. I don't think we've ever gotten a virus.andrewwski wrote:If you have some amount of common sense, you shouldn't be getting viruses. I can't think of the last time I got one.
