This idea I had is one of my shower thoughts. In sports like baseball, there are played who have certain positions, such as outfielder. People who do Science Olympiad can also have positions such as "studier", indicating someone who does study events, "general engineer", indicating someone who does build events, and "utility player", someone who can do anything. What is your position? Mine's is "studier".

Types of positions:
Earth Scientist: Does Earth/Space Science Events
Biologist: Does Life Science Events
Chemist: Does Chemistry and Physical Science Events
Engineer: Does Engineering Events
Curious Scientist: Does Inquiry and Nature of Science Events
Studier: Does Study Events
General Chemist: Does Lab Events
General Engineer: Does Build Events
Chemical Researcher: Does Study and Lab Events
Chemical Engineer: Does Lab and Build Events
Architectural and Design Researcher: Does Study and Build Events
Utility Player: Does all events

Edit: In this case, Hybrid events=Lab Events

This seems like it belongs more in general chat or posting games. General competition is for discussion about aspects of the competition, not really for a Q&A game like this

Can a mod please move this to general chat?

Let’s see...DP, Meteo, RFTS, Solar System, Roller Coaster (though I was really bad at this one), Anatomy, Crime Busters

I would say “studier” is most accurate for me, even though I really enjoyed crime busters. Earth Scientist works too for the most part, although I don’t view rfts and solar system as earth science.

I'd fit in as an Earth Scientist. All of my events over the past year were Earth Science related

That's because the scioly event categories merge them (I think, I'm not sure)

i'm utility player.... i generally get stuffed into any event no one wants to do and then actually do decent somehow-
mtv, cb, fs(food science. gross.), a&p, bridge, som, heredity, etc
