Missing Links - a game
I'm sure many of you have played Missing Links before, but for those of you who haven't, here is a quick explanation.
"Chains" are posted like this:
Hitler-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-Teriyaki
where -xxxxx- represents a missing link. A word or phrase will be on each end of the chain, with some number of missing links between them. Each word or phrase can connect in some way both to the word or phrase immediately to its left and immediately to its right. Examples of possible links include the name of an artist and one of their songs, phrases with similar meaning, words often seen together (e.g. peanut butter could link to jelly, fire to hose, bacon to sausage, etc), words that contain each other (e.g. key to monkey, fire to firefighter, dog to hot dog), opposites (Hot to cold, wet to dry, light to dark), Whole words to abbreviations (Ohio to OH, computer to PC) or many other possible types. People can guess possible missing links (one at a time) in any of the currently active chains (I will be starting 9 of them in this post). If you correctly complete the final link of a chain, you are invited to come up with a chain of your own of the same length as the one you completed. I will try to keep in this post a list of all active chains.
Oh, and the solution to the example
Hitler - Hitler's Youth - Alien Youth - Skillet - Stir Fry - Teriyaki
Explanation for the links: Hitler links to Hitler's Youth, and then Hitler's Youth to Alien Youth simply on shared elements. Alien Youth is a song by the band Skillet, you could cook a stir fry in a skillet, and a stir fry might use teriyaki sauce
2 links
Alexander Alekhine-xxxxx-xxxxx-Donald Rumsfeld
3 links
Mission Possible-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-Triskaidekaphobia
4 links
Billy Joel-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-Chicago Bears
5 links
Dory-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-Thierry Henry
6 links

7 links

Re: Missing Links - a game
Infinity goes to
The infinity symbol which looks like a sideways
Eight which when subtracted from ten you get
Two which is the number of
Eyes humans have and also the number of eyes
Fish have
Trouts are fish.
Let's try... Ryan Miller - XXXX - XXXX - XXXX - XXXX - Settlers of Catan
EDIT: Didn't see robotman's post

Re: Missing Links - a game
The idea is that you guess one or more missing links (you could for example just guess that Ryan miller links to hockey without going any further yet) in the puzzles I posted. Once a chain is entirely complete, the person who put in the last link gets to make a new one.

Wow, that was good, but not what I had planed originally:
Infinity-Numbers-We've Got Your Number-Science Olympiad-Scioly forums-Chat room-Trouts (you have to be in the chat room a lot to get it, but trust me, it makes sense)
Ok, how about this one?
Me-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-High School
(No, this has nothing to do with me.)
EDIT: fail
