Science Olympiad Is Average

Post by Celeste »

Most everybody has seen the site My Life Is Average, right? It's where people share weird little stories of things that happen during their plain lives. And we all know that there's no better place for strange occurrences than SO! Share weird and funny things that happened during practices or meets MLIA style here for others to read and laugh at. I'll start:

Today, my friend found a deck of cards in her bag during team practice. Instead of working on Remote Sensing like we were supposed to, we played UNO for half an hour. Several team members came over to watch and cheer us on. SOIA

Science Olympiad is so boring that I speak in a gangster way to spice up the meetings. My Chemistry teacher asked me why I talk that way. He assumed that I listened to too much rap. In return, I said, "Stronger, by Kanye West, be beast." Also, I did my math homework during that meeting. SOIA

Looking forward to the '11 SO season!

I went to someone's house to test a bridge. I got there late, at 10:30, like half an hour late. we thought we'd need two hours. my dad told me he'd pick me up half an hour past normal time, which is 12:30. we finished testing in 30 minutes, so we ended up playing tennis at nearby courts.

ehehhe I like this thread. Although I have to say that just like a lot of the posts on MLIA that aren't actually "average," Science Olympiad practices are usually less-than-average. I say it should stand for Science Olympiad Is Awesome. :)

My meetings are boring. My partners are somewhere else, so I either play emulators or post here.

Today we were working on Trajectory. We spent an hour searching for all the supplies, then when we went to drill a hole for the screw, we got the drill bit stuck in the wood and couldn't get it out. We'll deal with it next time.

Today, I ate all the popcorn before the 7th and 8th graders came in. Then I popped some more so they would never know. ;) SOIA.

Yesterday, I was helping some teammates practice for Picture This. Somehow, we ended up drawing team members than actual science words. SOIA.

I like to burst into song whenever I feel like it at those practices. =]
