Best material for parachue?

I'm just wondering what the best material would be for the parachute.
plastic. thin plastic.
like the kind you use for fruits and veggies in the grocery store.

I've also found that plastic drop sheets work very well and you can get HUGE ones from Home Depot.

Trash bags have worked well for me, though I order specific ones online to get large and light ones.

do you guys think fishing line for parachute cord is a bad idea? I feel that sewing thread is quite thin.

. Fishing line tangles less but is heavier.... depending on what you have. I think a braided fishing line, lightest lb test you can find is a good answer.Re: Best material for parachue?

Sewing thread is good if you can figure out a good way to adhere the ball to the string and figure out a way to keep it untangled.

not to mention, braided fishing line is coated with either waxy or teflon like substance to enable long casts... this sucks when you're trying to make this stick to something...
also, you need to learn fishing knots... as many simple overhand knots slips on braided lines.
