Protein Modeling C

Post by Tailsfan101 »

Starting off with an easy one:

What are the different parts of an amino acid, and which part gives different amino acids different properties?
"Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you." Matthew 5:11-12

I have no regrets.

Alpha Carbon, attached to it are Amino Group, Carboxyl group, Hydrogen atom, and “R” group. The R group gives the amino acids different properties

Correct, your turn. Remember to hide your answers, please.

Surround your answers with
and
.

Here's an example which you can copy and paste:

All amino acids are chiral except for glycine because the side chain is hydrogen. Amino acids exist as L isomers (fischer projection)
