Do people normally get States/Regionals tests back?
I was wondering how common it is to get tests back at regionals/states since we don’t. I’m also wondering when people get there tests back if they do (as in before or after awards, a week later, etc) Also, do any states or regionals release score distributions?
If an grading error is found on a returned test, what happens usually? I think there would be a lot of errors so it would take a long time to adjust all the placings.

Here in CT we don't get our tests back at States. I've never heard of anybody getting back their states tests anyways. And I don't think CT releases score distributions, if it had, then I'm pretty sure my coach would show them to our team. But then again, CT is a small state with not a lot of teams, it could differ with bigger states.Birdmusic wrote:I was wondering how common it is to get tests back at regionals/states since we don’t. At states, we never know if there was a grading error on anything. But I think that the Event Supervisors and the scorers for the events do double check their work if the scores are closed.

Generally, state and regional tournaments do not return tests to teams. Usually states have a score counseling process where grading is checked, and my guess is most regionals do as well.
Pennsylvania has recently started to release test scores to competing teams only, but I don't think most states are at that point yet.

Hello,
In Wisconsin, I know the West Regionals (both B and C) hand back tests and send score distributions to competing teams only. For state, no tests are ever given back, though this year raw score distributions were released to all competing teams.

Speaking of which, we haven't had a major controversy in a couple of years. I think 2016 was the last big one.

Re: Do people normally get States/Regionals tests back?
In the IL competitions that I have been to, states/regionals tests have neither been posted nor returned to teams. However, our regional does create score distributions for different events (for raw score), but I am not sure if this is standard practice.
