Best purchase for the team?

Best purchase for the team?

Post by pinkquack »

What's the best purchase your team has ever made that has helped them for their events?

For us, we're getting a 3D printer next year which will really help us with build.

What builds do you think a 3d printer would help with?

I'd say to send you coaches to the summer institute is the best investment.

I'm not on build myself, but my friends on build say that it will help.

Personally, I would want to get either a 3D printer or a laser cutter (or both ;))

Sadly, our team's funding isn't that great right now rip

Yeah, I'd personally prefer the laser cutter over the 3D printer; for events like boomi you can't really use filament effectively. (of course, while a 3d printer costs a motorbike, a laser cutter costs a car)

I don't personally own one, but I hear that the Creality Cr-10 is a good budget 3D printer. (Budget being $400) but it definitely has a larger print volume and better print quality than others in that cost range.

3D printer, cnc machine, laser cutter, welder, table saws, orbital sanders/sanding belts, drill press, and basically any shop tool are amazing investments for a team. A lot of the tools I listed were fortunately part of a wood shop class, that allows our team to use their stuff after school hours
