1. Conrad Middle School (223)
2. HB duPont MS (231)
3. St. Ann MS (236)
Adding to the list of long broken streaks this year, HB duPont has only missed nationals once before this, and this would have been their 20th straight victory. Just two years ago, they finished with 86 points and their second team had 204 and finished in second. Based on how close the top three were, it seems that their defeat is just as much about them falling off as another team rising.

Despite being close to active states like PA and NJ, I don't think we have many posters from Delaware. Any lurkers with insight about the dynamics of B division this year?

Did they lose a coach or do as Delaware have a strange scoring system? Those are crazy high point totals for 1st through 3rd placed teams.

However, even with an invitational such as Rustin (60 teams), St Ann went and got 39th: 839 points. At DE states they got 236, which just means that the teams in DE were equally weak, if not a lot weaker, than the top teams.

Another way of looking at St. Ann is a team from DE that went to an invitational (few other do) and got better from it. They took what they learned in early January and worked to improve before States. Though I do agree that the State competition did not have the same level of competition as at Rustin.

Sad to see a No Show in Game On for them with such tight scores.

As East said, H.B. duPont has gone to Nationals every single year since 1985 except 1999. An interesting fact about Conrad is last year they were 9th at state, and the year before that they were 14th. This, truly, is a massive upset.

What a year of tossups. FSA wins Georgia for the first time, and duPont is not going to nats. Have we crossed into a parallel universe?

As well as Hyde Park, who has had their states winning streak since 2004.

And Northern Lights ABC. And Hamilton (MT). And Georgia (FSA won).

A bunch of new teams this year!
