5 Centimeters of Unbroken Track

Okay so on the rules it states that 5 centimeters of unbroken track must follow a gap.
So what if the 5 centimeters of track is after the finish line. Like, what if the gap goes straight to the finish line and has unbroken track AFTER said finish line.

IMO the track after the finish line really isn't part of the track

I had this dilemma last year (ending with a big jump). I figured I didn't want to leave it up to a judges interpretation so did the track prior to finish line. Good question! I could see it argued both ways.

I'd say its illegal because IMO anything after the finish line is nothingness (unless its dimensions), but if I was an ES I would deem it illegal, but it is always in the opinion of the judge.
