Linking to an outside resource where you gain no profit from others using that resource, and in a way where you are not deceptive in your advertisement, is fine. However, this is not that, in a few ways:
- The initial post, quoted above, is intentionally deceptive; it presumes to advertise the channel from a third-person point of view, when it is actually self-promotion.
- The title of the thread promotes the channel as the "best channel for Science Olympiad". Having the thread title be so promotional indicates that the person is seeking more to advertise rather than share a helpful resource.
- Most importantly, the most recent video on the channel is titled "Watch the full video for the chance to win Amazon Giftcard". This suggests that the channel is not actually just a helpful resource, but that there is some monetary gain involved via the advertisement. This causes this advertisement to be in violation of forum rule #2 (scioly.org/rules)
