Hey guys,
How do you pack your boomilevers for transportation to a competition? I'm wondering especially about buses. What do you use to keep the boomilever protected and free from damage and interference?

packing peanuts. a wooden box full of packing peanuts.

We tape our boomi to the inside of a box, then put that box inside another box with packing peanuts.

I've never used packing peanuts. I think that packing peanuts only create extra problems for when you are packing and unpacking your boom(s), but I could be wrong. I've always found good-fitting cardboard boxes for my boomilevers, put them inside, and sealed the box shut. After that, I just hope for the best and try to not shake the box. I bring my boomilevers to and from school all the time, and this method has never failed me. Sometimes I double layer the boxes, but the inside layer is always bare. In the case of a competition, a plywood box or plastic tote would be a good idea, just make sure nothing is crushing the members of your boom. Be sure to bring extra wood and glue, of course, because you can never guarantee complete safety.

I have a box with styrofoam on the bottom and stick t pins around the boomilever and its worked for all the competitions I went to. Also remember to never put anything on the box expect for maybe things that are really light.

well with packing peanuts, its just a pain to put it, but its pretty worth it especially if its going long distances. the whole box is full of peanuts, and i take half of them out, put my boomi in, then toss the half back in. pretty sure theres about a .000001% chance of it breaking in there. its completely plywood, and was used to bring it to nats in 2016 so ig it cant get any sturdier.
i use a plastic box when bringing it to and from school.
(also i think i just wrote a post on boxes that's longer than any other of my useful posts in the boomi forum oops )

I use a strong airtight box that can support weight on top of it just in case and it can comfortably fit 2 boomilevers. I just secure them with a rope tape design.

Use a sturdy, red box with foam at the bottom and use pins to prevent your Boomilever from moving. Also, MAKE SURE to put a hammer and a sickle in the box.
