Member Search

Post by sewforlife »

I was wondering if DS or someone could change the member search. You can only search people by their exact user name, say, if I was trying to find sewforlife, and then I only remembered part of the user, maybe sew. so I could type in sew, and it would be whatever username contains "sew" in it, that would show up.
Just wondering if that could be changed.

If you search whatever parts you remember, then put an asterisk (*) then it matches all possibilities. For example if you are looking for me and you remember gyo, then search gyo* and gyourkoshaven is the only thing that comes up. This works for all of the fill-in the blank fields.

Then you need to search *tiger*.

It's simple search operators, the same as you'd find on any other search. * is the wildcard operator.

You can use it anywhere, as many times as needed. So a search for "fm*ger*" would match you, as well.

Alternatively, everyone should just have short, easy to remember user names (and real names).
