"Non-electric tools"
"Non-electric tools"
The rules state that "non-electric tools" are to be used. We are planning to use digital protractors and calipers to reduce operator error. I know what this question is getting at (to prevent people from using power tools to modify their vehicle), but whether or not they explicitly want to prohibit such devices of measurement is ambiguous. Does anyone have thoughts on this?
Re: "Non-electric tools"
I believe rules 3.d and 3.g would prevent the use of protractors or calipers if these use electricity.

As far as I know, the object of this rule is also to prevent teams from using electrical aids in aiming (laser pointers and things like that along with the items you mentioned)- at least, that’s how the event was run in my state. If you don’t get any info to the contrary, I would definitely go with a normal protractor and dial calipers to be safe.
