Tape on the floor.

Post by athanzxyt »

Hi! My teammates and I have been testing our buggy and attempting the bonus line. We used caliper steering and it worked great at our most recent invitational (we got first place :D). During our 8 minutes, we had placed a piece of tape on the floor as a reference point, the event supervisor said that was prohibited. I can't find the rule that says anything about that. Can anybody help me?

iii. Participants may clean the track during their 8 minutes, but the track must remain dry at all times.
No wet and/or tacky substances may be applied to the track, wheels, or treads.
I think tape counts as a tacky substance... By the way congrats on that nice shiny gold medal!

We just place a skinny tower of blocks to sight to. It's always been allowed. We have had more of an issue in supervisors letting us take our own measurements between runs for our adjustments. They freak out when I bring a ruler out there.
