What are your best "technically..." facts based on niche or pedantic definitions?
Technically the entire eastern US* mainland is an island because it is surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, the St. Lawrence Seaway/Great Lakes, a few canals, and the Mississippi river (known as the "Great Loop", which is completely navigable to small enough boats) (and it is also smaller than a continent for a reasonable island definition).

Technically, it's not excessive if it has a purpose, in which it is to be abbreviations. Technically, excessively long nicks can be disruptive enough to the flow of the chat to be considered spam or flooding, so enforcing a maximum length of unintelligible nicks is something we are well within our rights to do.
