Back in my Fossils and R&M days we used 5-inch binders, but none can compare to chalker's monster Crave the Wave binder he showed a picture of once that I couldn't find again.

(also why is this in the nats forums lmao)

I didn't do binder this year, last year was around 2 inches for invasive. I'm personally not a big fan of large binders and it was already hard enough to find things when my binder broke during competition and some pages fell out/got out of order. I just IDed the animal quickly and only went through if I had time, otherwise answered with whatever made sense

Last year my hover binder had 3 whole textbooks in it...we never opened it ONCE during a test. RIP trees...

Also, at nationals last year, the road binder apparently had 4 pages, which were the required USGS topo symbols (I didn't do it last year). They placed third lol

Yeah road binders don't require much, but ours had every single shred of notes from our schools road teams dating back at least 4-5 years

Back in 2016, my 3rd place Invasives binder was 6 inches. We taped the rings to prevent pages from falling out. Our 4th place Fossils binder was 5 inches.
This year our herp binder is 5 inches and he's starting to overflow.
