The Event that "Got Away"
I haven't seen any other threads like this so far, but there's a thread for events you wish existed, so now here's a thread for events that do exist, but you were unable to do for some odd reason. This may be due to a conflict with your other events, or because someone else got it before you did. I feel like this would be a cool way to see what other interests people have that were never fully explored.
For example, I wanted to do Meteorology in Division B but it conflicted with one of my events (R&M, probably) therefore I never picked it up. I was also somewhat interested in Game On, but NC doesn't run it.

Re: The Event that "Got Away"
Food science- already taken back
Potions- didn't do scioly in 6th grade
Anatomy- taken
Microbe- (This year) didn't get on from tryouts
Herp????- I made the team on this but never actually competed on it this year. It conflicted with Fermi (which I didn't make) and they needed someone for that. I got to do Fermi the rest of the year and never did herp (mostly sad I made the herp binder that was never really used). Oh well I like Fermi better anyways

For me, it's most of them, but the big one is Pentathlon. So much fun...

Re: The Event that "Got Away"
Last year, I tried out at the beginning of the year for, among other events, Hydrogeology and Invasive Species. I did pretty well in both of them, but neither of them was too at regionals because it's just half the events at NJ regionals, and then before I had the chance to go to an invite, the States schedule came out, with Wind Power (an event I had a year of experience in and which nobody else was willing to do) conflicting with Invasives and Remote Sensing (an event I was really passionate about which nobody else was willing to do) conflicting with Hydrogeology. So I never got to compete in either of them.

Dynamic Planet, which I didn't do this year due to conflicts and being needed more in A&P.

Re: The Event that "Got Away"
I've been playing around on Scratch since I was 10, and wanted to do Game On but the pair that always does it on our team are sisters, so they work together really well. Now, if I'm not mistaken, it's moving on to Div B.

Events: A&P, DD, Circuit Lab
If you're curious...yes, I like rabbits.

Dynamic Planet (Tectonics) - I would have done it for our team had it not been for a national conflict with my favorite event, Rocks and Minerals.

Re: The Event that "Got Away"
Mystery Architecture. I was prepping for this event for two months for an invite in November.
The week of the invite rolls around, and our coach tells everyone to write down what events we are doing, what we need, etc, but most importantly the time slot. As I'm doing this, I realize that Mystery conflicts with one of my events, Microbe Mission...
I DIDN'T CATCH THIS FOR A WHOLE 2 MONTHS!
I ended up never competing in this event xD

Disease Detectives. Did really well in DD last year, but couldn't do it this year because of scheduling conflicts (my mom coached Potions and Poisons!) and ended up getting 20th at Regs for P&P oops
