High School Schedule Help

Post by NovaXY1 »

I know this is not related to Science Olympiad at all, but I need some insight into something. Next year in high school (I'm an 8th grader now so I'll be a 9th grader then) I have a pretty busy schedule. It consists of Chemistry, Advanced Language, AP World History, Algebra II, Spanish I, Band, and this thing called Freshman Focus during the first semester. During the second semester I'm doing everything the same except that Freshman Focus is switched out for World Geography and Band goes from taking up two blocks to only one so I'm taking contemporary health in the extra spot (My school is on a block schedule). I am super hardworking and in the top 5 people at my school but would it actually be realistic for me to do all this? I'd really appreciate your thoughts on this!

Should be fine, I did roughly similar in freshman year (except harder math and science, easier foreign language) and I'm nowhere near top 5 in my class (maybe ~top 30). Depends on how hard your teachers are of course.

Our schools freshman schedule is quite different, but I took all honors and AP world history (as a 2 year course) minus Spanish honors and it is relatively manageable. Dunno where I rank (definitely not top 5 and my grades arnt that great) but it's not to overwhelming. Like unome said tho it definitely depends on teacher. Like my English teacher is really easy while NY math teachers notoriously hard (compared to the other teachers) I've heard about another honors bio teacher who didn't teach SAT level material while all the other bio honors teachers did. I think my teachers difficulty realitively averages out for my school and I don't feel overwhelmed for the most part
