yup
last minute question
I promise this has nothing to do with my previous question
anyway
what would the fastest-drying would glue be, and how long would that take to dry? And just in general, what glues would work well for towers?

CA glue is the fastest. With accelerator, it's almost completely dry within a few minutes (although it hardens in seconds). Even without accelerator it will harden within a minute and be at full strength in a few hours or so. CA glue also tends to require the least amount to make a strong joint - literally molecules-width of CA forms a stronger joint than the wood strength.

Going along with Unome, the best brands of CA glue in my opinion are the Bob Smith Industry CA glue which you can get at a true hobby store and Loctitie Gel control CA glue. Both work amazingly well, but it just comes down to preference and availability.

I use a glue that hardens in a minute or two and is really strong but it triples the time it takes to build one tower. Should I use accelerator or add a tiny bit of the blue bottle super glue that I used at the beginning of the season because it hardens in seconds instead of minutes.

I would just use blue, as I doubt any glue would need to be stronger. If you watch towers break, they always break at the wood, because the glue is almost always stronger than the wood. It will save tons of time.

I was told by two of my coaches that the glue I’m using is better because it can stretch more before breaking.

Use any Cyanoacrylate glue.

Been doing this a very long time...
For Bridges, I recommend a wood glue, cut with 30% water, so it soaks into the wood yet stays pliable. Clamp all joints until dry
For towers, you just can't beat a medium viscosity cyanoacrylate glue, just don't build it more than 60 days out, as this glue tends to get brittle with age.
For boomilevers, we use a polyurethane base glue (like Gorilla Glue), as it swells as it dries, which is what is needed in that event, but it can be heavier and more difficult to control.

So should I just use the blue ca glue instead of tire glue?

Can't tell you what to use, but we use a medium viscosity clear super glue (cyanoacrylate) applied with micro-tip adapter.
