Hypothetical tower

Okay, this is not completely serious but I was wondering
Would it be possible to make like a 30 cm x 6cm x 20 cm base for a tower (length, width, height) and then a 6 cm x 6cm x 30 cm chimney....I know that this is not practical but is it allowed...
(It could also technically be practical because if you use 1/16 wood it could be 2ish grams. with the bonus which is like 2500 points right there and then since they are right angles, it could hold a little bit)
So, is this allowed?

2500ish is a good score, right?
There has been pretty extensive discussion of the...."ultra light" approach you're talking about; you might want to review it. To be scored (as opposed to being tiered down (as in "did not support load block assembly"), it will have to carry load block, eyebolt/nut/washer, chain, and bucket.
You would have a much better chance of pulling that off with 1) a square base (w/ legs a hair over 21cm apart at base- meeting circle bonus), and 2) a base section 25cm high rather than the 20 you indicate. You're shooting yourself in the foot going with narrow rectangular base, and lower base height.

Loading Block = Chain and Block
Block = .4kg Chain = .2 kg
Tried it, didnt work. Highest hit 1800

Somebody I know built a tower:
1.5grams, with ONLY 3/32 columns and stuff to connect it (squares on the top, middle, bottom. There were no bracings.
It held the loading block, but of course it didn't hold the bucket, which i think is 1 (maybe 2) kg.
There's no its going to work. Even if it does work, all the other teams who get real 3k towers are gonna hate you lol

This might be why it didn't work. 1/64" or so bracings may have helped quite a bit.

To be really fair, all this "hypothetical tower" stuff is pointless and really annoying.
Imagine going to nats, having a legit (not "hypothetical") tower weighing 4 grams and you're confident it'll hold full weight. That's 3750 efficiency.
But then this random guy from this random school you haven't heard from comes along. it's a 1.3 gram tower, only holding the bucket and the loading block. It gets the bonus.
Results come out. The team is from some REALLY sketchy school that you haven't even heard of. They get 1st place, and you get second. You're triggered. You think, "How the heck did this happen???"
Then the real results come out with all the weights and the checklists and stuff of all the teams. You realize that they "cheated".
How mad would you be?
