how about the max times? I remember people getting 2 minutes at nationals, which is crazy!!!!!!! how to people even do that? it seems like the max will be less this year though because of the smaller wing.

also schrewdpanhter, i heard someone in my school is getting 1:30! I'm on the second team so yeah.. :(

At nats last year, we got 1:57, which got us 4th place. What we had was a slow ascent, and a wide circle.

Last year, each of the dimensions were a few cm longer, and the minimum allowed mass was 0.5 grams heavier. I would expect similar times this year as compared to last year, perhaps slightly higher or lower.

Yes, and some teams more, but it really depends on your ceiling height. I've heard of times 2min 30 seconds and above, though personally at my school's gym my best time was something like 2 minutes and 9 seconds. At NY states with a lower ceiling, we had a test run of 1 min 56 (scraped the ceiling), but during the best official run was 1 min 39, placing us in 2nd. First was 1 min 40, from what the team told me when I asked.

I think it was Ohio states last year, where they had an indoor track stadium or something with a like 50 feet ceiling and the winning team was able to get around 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

FYI
I expect times to be similar to last year. Ohio top time was around 3:20 in 48 feet. Winning time at Nationals was 2:18 in 23’.
One of the teams I advise had their first practice and flew 2:03 in 26’
