Newbie Battery Buggy How-To

Hey so I'm new to this whole science olympiad gig does anyone have a really simple way to build the battery buggy? or any advice? Please?

There is a kit on Ward's Science that is way overpriced, but will do the job. If you plan on using it, make sure you don't use the capacitors in the kit.

I would recommend building from scratch. The easiest way to build a battery buggy would probably be to use a plywood base. Watch this video to get a really good understanding of the basics:

The video is for electric car which was substantially different from a power standpoint and thus weight.
Look at all of the posts that are all ready here. Quite a while back I posted build ideas and then another one on motors . There are several good bits of information in the other posts.
A great picture is in "battery buggy" that was in the presentation from the summer institute several years ago. Google it and go to the end of the presentation.
