I am going to guess that there were other factors in play that led Seven Lakes not to be able to have a full team. Keep in mind that Texas to California is a considerable distance, and they've already gone to a ton of invitationals. I definitely still feel that Troy is the national favorite, but I don't think this result is necessarily a death knell for Seven Lakes.

Despite Troys win, Mira Loma still had a very strong showing and I feel a stacked Mira Loma team may not have allowed Troy to take first. Still plenty of time before nationals...

Troy has to be the favorite at this point ... they have won Mira Loma, their own tournament, and Golden Gate by wide margins.

Per the website, the 2018 tournament is on January 27th at Stanford. Thoughts on the conflict with Centerville? (I doubt it will be important, but was anyone considering both?)
