State website!
WSSL website!

link to the MIT invitational thread, the most important part of this state
link to broken MIT invite website

Link to the Northern New England Invitational site (technically not Massachusetts but close enough)

Discuss Massachusetts here!

This can include talking about WSSL Regionals, angsting over the horrendous States schedule, or complaining that AB is going to win again for the 8th year in a row :>

Heh, looks like you're the only one from Mass here. I'm moving there next year, although I'll be a grad and I won't stay unless I go to U of Mass.

It looks like there are no regionals in Mass, is that true? And no invites besides MIT?

I'm a Massachusetts newcomer as well. Will be helping out at both MA states and the MIT invites this year!

Sounds like there are some oddities to the format here?

As far as I know, the only oddity is that the Division B state tournament uses the old high score wins scoring system (although the Div C tournament is on the "new" system). MA is probably also less policy-heavy than VA (or PA really).

Yeah, MA is a pretty barren region scioly-wise. WSSL is a "regionals" of sorts but it's completely separate from the state tournament

Nice! Hope to see you there :D

The state schedule (found at http://masciolympiad.x10host.com/CSched2017DRAFT.doc ) is... peculiar, to say the least. Most notably, every team will have at least 6 events conflicting halfway through the day... Additionally, some events are taken out and replaced with others (not as liberally as in other states though). Last year, they took out Green Generation and Hydrogeology and put in Circuit Lab, and this year, Hydrogeology and Remote Sensing have been replaced with, again, Circuit Lab.

Don't know much about Div B unfortunately.

Looks like the final WSSL meet is coming up. I wonder if we can close the enormous gap between 1st and 2nd. :?:

Looks like I'll be volunteering at the Mass state div C tournament. Not sure yet whether I'll be supervising events, if I am I'll give updates. I'll try to meet you AB people there 8-) .

Alright, so I'll be at registration until 9:00, then I have two free hours, then I'm sorting medals, then helping supervise Astronomy. Fun!
