hey, i am going to the north east for vacation... what are the best bird spots in New York, Maine, and the rest up there... and what interesting birds are there now... I get tired of the west coast summer species...

To try and bring some discussion back: anyone have an itouch/iphone and downloaded a bird app onto there? I got the Audubon one for around $20, and it was amazing, mainly because we got to study bird calls on the bus ride to states. I also prefer its real photographs as opposed to hand-drawn illustrations, like Sibley has.

And during an activity at bio camp, I snuck up behind a Canadian Goose and pet it.

I got the Peterson one for $8. It was pretty good, but doesn't have all of the calls.

Ehh-- I didn't download anything... Expensive stuff... -_-;

It's expensive, but worth it on the go. Of course, you could study at home, but if you need to cram, you can count on them.
