I'm not too sure that there are many resources out there that have all diseases in one place. However, I find that most general anatomy textbooks have a lot of information on most of the diseases listed. Otherwise, I would just search around on google or check out a muscle book from your local library.

You probably don't have to know about the 9 types of MD for Regionals and State, but I would recommend studying about it for Nationals.

For me: same answer, same reason (except it was a Nationals for us).

Does "classes of muscle fibers" refer to things like slow-twitch and fast-twitch? And if so, how much would we have to know about fast/slow twitch muscles for the effects of exercise on muscles for regional/state competitions?

Well the idea is that if I know what I need to be studying for nationals, I can wait to study it until after state and instead focus my studying towards only topics that will show up on regional/state tests : P

I still don't really get it . I feel like you should study about the Regionals/State stuff throughout the year, know the information by heart, and then keep the Nationals stuff on the reference sheet.

I'd say if your team will almost certainly make Nationals, than it makes sense to study Nationals material before state. It's probably also dependent on the time of the state tournament; people in Michigan won't really have much time to prepare for Nationals-only material.

On a side note, why is it that only the Bio events seem to have Nationals-specific material? Is this just one of those things that depends on the committees?

Hydrogeology and Forensics have national-specific topics. Also many building events (IAT, Trajectory) have certain parameters that become harder at higher level competitions.
