And it is! They're formed from small inclusions of cristobalite (white radially clustered crystals) in the obsidian. Interesting stuff.

That there is a sample of Aragonite, polymorphous with Calcite; my reasoning is the distinctive crystal shape, and the fact that it must be polymorphous with something :D
