Good luck to Friedell and Mounds View at nationals! I live in NorCal now, but I do have a soft spot for the state of ice tsunamis.

Whaaaaaat. Source?

Edit: Jk found it. Never heard of it before...Is complex machines an event, or a general header for a "complex machine" event?
And holy crap Roller Coaster sounds difficult

Complex Machines is indeed the title of an event. Also, Roller Coaster was run as a trial in Ohio and Virginia this past year, so it's not completely unheard of. I wish the MN board of directors wasn't so averse to Mission Possible though, because I think it's a great challenge and not necessarily any more prohibitively expensive than a building event like Robot Arm or Boomilever.

Yeah, everyone from MV who's done Mission Possible seems to call it the defining event of their Science Olympiad career. It's really a shame that they'd remove it. I'm kind of disappointed in the decision.

Hmm according to https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid= ... NDBmYjc5Mw it looks like they'll be running two Division C trial events, Green Generation and Hydrogeology. But that document also still lists Mission Possible as an event that will be run. Outdated document perhaps? Interesting.....
