Looking at recent new from SE, CE, and Central on number of teams registered to each division. I think SE will keep their 7 team slots. Although I'm not sure...

Last year the State Schedule (or at least a version of it) was posted on the Juniata website at the end of Feb. This was available for all teams but with two issues. Teams did not necessarily know their team numbers and thus did not know what their conflicts would be. Also last year was the first year in a long time that I can remember that the State schedule changed after it was posted and after the SE PA regional competition.

I agree that there is an advantage to an earlier regional (though an early released State schedule for all teams reduces this). But teams should not use this as an excuse for why they were not as ready as the could be. If your regional competition is not until the end of March and ours was at the beginning, you still should have taken that time to prep. I understand for building events or for events that you were unclear about a rule but in general if you have used this time to study there should be no significant advantage.

Also teams should probably concentrate less on how many teams from their region are going to make states and instead worry about just knowing their events the best they can. If you are concerned that your region is only taking 6 teams this year rather than 7 the best thing to do is to make sure you are the top 6. If they end up taking 7 it wouldn't matter to you. And thus it won't matter if those numbers aren't released ahead of time. Focus on being the best you can at Regionals and everything else will take care of itself.

Does anyone know if the PA tree list will be used at the SE Regional? It doesn't really clarify on the website, but gives a link to the PA tree list:

It should be used seeing as it is a regional competition and that is our state-specific list.

Ooh, kinda looks like the 2008 shirt! Similar color scheme, at least. And Millersville's dot got a little closer compared to last year's shirt: :D

I am also very glad that Astronomy and Remote Sensing do not conflict, even though I'm not competing this year. That was an unfortunate setup last year.

I don't understand why (for both Nats and this schedule) Meteorology and RFTS conflict. Naturally, some people would be interested in doing both.

Still, only 1 conflict for me!
