Re: General Mission Possible
If you use a pulley once, can you use it again, if it doesn't count for pionts?

Re: General Mission Possible
I'm not sure how you would do that without making a parallel or dead-end path. How are you planning on using the pulley and what will go in the intermediate steps?benk wrote:If you use a pulley once, can you use it again, if it doesn't count for pionts?

Re: General Mission Possible
I think benk is asking whether or not one is able to have the same event (using a pulley) happen at different, multiple times for different purposes, but only have one of those multiple times count towards the score. Is this what you were thinking of?
Science, yeah!

Re: General Mission Possible
Because this event is basically cause and effect we need to work backwards. That's what we have been doing but we are still on the paddle wheel part. How far along is everyone else? Because I think that my team is far behind...

Uh...well, my team is a little behind...we started practicing less than two weeks ago, so we haven't got that much done. However, we do have some stuff planned out and drawn. My advice: Draw everything and keep it all in one spot. Believe me, that will help.

Re: General Mission Possible
We are having INCREDIBLE trouble with the pulley task, design wise. The records on the internet for a pulley with an IMA greater than one are pretty much nonexistent. Help? Links?

The reason is probably because is to get IMA above 1 you need multiple pulleys, which means you have a 'block and tackle' device. Check out the following Wikipedia page for some background: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulley#Block_and_tackle

Re: General Mission Possible
I have a general question regarding the task list. If two tasks are done at once (Ex. a spring that pulls a third class lever, both g & i) would both be counted as completed tasks and points be rewarded? Would they be counted separately? Would they both be counted but only one scored?
