Be nice to Idaho, y'all...we're trying our best to be competitive in a not competitive state. According to our performances this year, (our actual knowledge and not just medals) our team actually has a chance at ranking in a few events. We got 16th in Disease Detectives last year.

Okay, trash talking states who try, possibly even more then you, is not okay. Not only is it immoral, but it also may not be true. Texas used to place in the bottom half until Beckendorff came along, even winning nationals in 2014. Anything could happen, and you can't criticize it.

This is about nats, yes. I believe that was the B team so I'm less familiar with their scores (and this IS the B rankings thread, haha), but my team (C division) placed 12th in experimental design, and 24th in robot arm as well for our best events our first year at nationals. Idaho may not be competitive, there were only 31 B teams and 13 C teams at state, but we sure as heck try to compete at our very best and improve our rank at nationals if possible! We really hope in the future we'll be able to encourage the other teams to try just as hard as we do.

So uh yeah, it'd be kind not to trash talk other teams you don't know the history of based on state alone. *shrug*

TBH the schools first year doesn't matter, it the student's/coach's first year that matters.

This is entirely possible; first-year schools just tend to have many first-year students and coaches. But it would be interesting looking at cases where the students/coaches have past nationals experience, or where an established team has a lot of new students and coaches. Definitely worth looking into.

With NoCal states coming up, who do you think would win? Kennedy or Churchill?

Edit: Has anyone realized how teams with earlier states comps place considerably worse than teams which have states late:
https://scioly.org/wiki/index.php/Wrigh ... rsity_2017
Ex: Wright State Uni 2017:
Montana (November): 48th
West Virginia, SOuth Carolina, New Mexico (February): 55, 43, 44

THen APril 29th (last state comps):
Illinois:1,8
Michigan:4,13
Pennsylvania:9,20

Kraemer = South California, I think you mean Kennedy.

It also just so happens that those states have much stronger teams.
