At first i thought that everyone was over-reacting to swine flu..... This morning i was diagnosed with influenza A, or pretty much swine flu. I think i'm the first person on this site to get it. I"m quarantened and not allowed to leave my house untill next monday. This week i am missing 4 finals including the geometry and living environment new york state regents examinations which i will have to make up august 13. to make it worse i go to Greece every summer; this year it was planned from June 27 to september 7th. This means that i will have to come back to the US early and it will cut my vacation in half.
My max temperature was 102.8. I'm going to be taking tamaflu (which was difficult to find due to the shortage).
At least 4ish people in my school have influenza A, or probable swine flu.
:cry:

Yeah I guess if they catch it early enough it really isn't much more serious than the common flu.

I'm no doctor, but I don't think it really matters when they catch it, it's a virus, and thus it's going to run its course.

From my understanding Tamiflu inhibits virus replication, which will help, as it will limit the severity of the illness and speed up recovery. It doesn't actually kill the virus, your body does that itself.

I suppose for at-risk individuals early treatment may help. But for most people it will just facilitate recovery.

Hm.
According to my friend, one of our other friends' (who does SO in another school) entire family has swine flu, too.
I'm not really worrying about it much, because a lot of people from our school district have already recovered from it, but I hope he and his family get better too D:
Honestly, though, the first thing that I was worried about was that he was gonna have to reschedule all of his finals.. ^-^;;

My friend was out for a week, when he came back he said he had swine flu. I'm not sure he's telling the truth, but if it is its getting scary.

Could it be possible to take the finals at your house?

My friend got the chicken pox during finals also and she got arrangements to take them at home.

:o :shock: That's insane!! We're not even allowed to make them up. If you're not there by the bell on exam day, 0 for you.
