It was a misplaced bowl. If that hadn't happened we would've easily gotten top 20 if not top 10.

Wait actually nevermind...

And a huge congrats to Murphy, who did absolutely awesome. I've never been more nervous at a Scio award ceremony before, you guys totally kicked butt.

Though I don't know if anyone recognized me there, I was the guy running the Fossils event with the grey Hawaii Scio shirt.
OMMMFFGGGG I SAW YOU!!! You were handing out the Trilobite sheet things, right? Wow. I feel honored.
Haha that was me in all of my awesome awkwardness =)
And I feel honored that you feel honored.

Thank you! I hope Murphy will keep improving, but this was my last year with the team.

Gelinas on the other hand was very confident but then got totally outranked after one of their balls bounced out of the bowl.
There was a small horizontal segment because there weren't any bowls to support the ramp.
ornithology, forestry, entomology, triple E, green generation, water quality, dynamic planet (lakes & rivers), awesome aquifers, meteorology, robot arm, write it do it. :)

PFFFF. xD

Immaturity aside, it's not really right to say that Murphy got "killed" in Junkyard. It was an unexpected disaster; there's ALWAYS a disaster. It doesn't mean they worked any less hard on it. And I'm not just saying this because the girl who was doing it was crying at dinner last night, I'm saying it because it's the truth. If it hadn't happened, Gelinas would definitely have not been able to go to Nationals.

Did anyone see (or hear) me? I was/am always the girl who is screaming the loudest when Gelinas is announced at the award ceremony. Though I wasn't really happy when we ended up in second place. I was sad for my Murphy friends. :[

I WAS A SADSCIENCEPIE. D:

Anyway, congratulations, everybody! :D<3
Especially Murphy, you guys had us trembling in our pants at the award ceremony. We ended up holding each others' hands and making a chain for comfort.

It's funny how much our standards have changed since two years ago.
'09: "2nd place: Paul Gelinas!" "...D:"
'11: "2nd place: Paul Gelinas!" "OH MY GOD WE'RE GOING TO NATIONALS ARG;UAHTGAL HOW DID THIS HAPPEN 8DDDDDDDDD"

We'll see you in Wisconsin, Eagle Hill. :]

..I keep editing this post, I'm sorry. I'll stop now. xD
Nationals 2011: Flying Bird; team (Gelinas) ~ 7th
Nationals 2010: Optics ~ 9th; team (Gelinas) ~ 3rd

Yeah, Gelinas was freaking out. The sad part is that we were cheering harder when Murphy got 3rd, and they seemed sad. :c
After looking at the score sheet, I'm amazed at Eagle Hill. Whatever they didn't place in it was almost always within the top 12, whereas we had our nightmares from place to place. I'd like to say congrats to them, as well as HURHURHUR I BEAT YOU AT ROADS AND BIRDS :]

I heard from someone that the highest Compute score was 51/100...
Congratulations to Eagle Hill and Gelinas! <3 And Murphy did very well, in fact, all the teams did quite well!

The Murphy kids (who apparently fudged the data) somehow placed over the Gelinas kids, who I'm assuming wasted more time finding the data. How did a grader not see that?

Oh and could someone explain to me the swap meet? I know there's a lot of hype about it but WHAT IS IT?
