I love going to tournaments because they yield so many new awesome quotes. From my team's first competition:

This was in my 6th grade year when the people doing bottle rocket wanted to see if the launcher would hold air in the bottle while we were in the science lab.

I'm guessing you guys have a friend with the last name Yu. I do, and I always make fun of his name.

No, we don't. At this one meet, we got bored, so my friend was showing me some of the stuff she learned in Japanese class, especially funny mnemonic devices (ways to remember stuff). The symbol 'Yu' (I don't remember what it means) looks sort of like a little fish, so she said "Yu is a fish"! That got me laughing, and then we went over to this guy that was in her Japanese class and said "Yu is a fish" to him. He had no idea what we were talking about, so my friend and I cracked up laughing! It took him, like, a month to figure it out, but once he did, he thought it was funny, too.

We just had our first semi-serious practice a couple days ago, and we had some, shall we say, interesting quotes.

"We got first last year, so you don't have to do anything."
"You built that?" "Hey, anything to get on the coach's good side."
"Oh no, not you again..."
"I'm stuck with the smart people, so I can slack off."

There were others, but I'd probably get kicked off the site if I posted them.

Me-"Uh, no." *runs back to team HQ in the rain, almost knocking over several people from the school team in the process*

And then there was the ride home, where everyone sang "99 bottles of beer on the wall". We actually got to zero.
